Today, I took advantage of some extra time on my hands [unemployed, possibly unemployable, slacker!] and the amazing early fall weather we have been having to hit up MMCC for some weekday action. I have to say, even though I dig riding the dirt and gravel roads, it’s always nice to get back on singletrack.
As a bonus I got to ride some just marked singletrack the trail gnomes are starting to put in. Not sure on the exact length of the new stuff due to some tree cover vs. calibration issues that I need to try and fixed on the Garmin, but it should add another .5 miles or more to the 15 mile loop.
It was rough, grassy and full of just cut samplings, etc., but still… (As I mentioned via Twitter earlier) riding fresh cut trail is like getting to meet your baby before it’s born. OR is it like getting to 1st base with a new girlfriend (or anyone for that matter) knowing that 2nd, 3rd and the Holy-f’ing-grail of home plate beckons? Either way, it’s pretty cool.
