The Last 36 Hours

rainrainandmorerain

Any riding that I planned to do on Thursday morning was washed out, as Ma Nature unleashed storms and torrential downpours on Michiganderburgh all day and night. As I type this on late Friday afternoon things remain dark, dank, dreary and soggy and I have no desire to leave the house for anything other than beer and pickle juice (I’ll explain that in the near future).

I attempted to squeeze in a quick three and a half mile hike yesterday afternoon but was chased out of the woods by a deluge of rain after just a half of a mile. I flopped, flailed, cussed and ran out of the woods doing everything I could to protect my camera as the soaking rains fell. Thank God I decided to use my back pack and to take a big ol’ ziploc bag with me or I would have myself a useless camera/paper weight right now!

Since B-Man is off school Friday and Monday and Wifey took Friday off, Thursday was sort of like Friday, so I fell off the weekday wagon with a loud thud and cracked open some beers before Wifey and I met some of our friends for dinner last night.

Even this squirrel is praying for the rain to stop.

I’m really hoping that the dirt roads and trails dry out in the coming hours but since it just started misting rain again, I’m not all that hopeful. I guess I could have got out for a dedicated road ride today, I just had no motivation to do such a things.

Off to buy pickles.

Later.
