Miles and Shorts

I wrote a post and then decided it was too dark and too much about things I promised myself that I wouldn’t write about here anymore.

Let’s just say I’ve been in a deep funk (not the good kind) for about 4 or 5 days, and am struggling to find a good word to say about anything. So, rather than have you think even less of me than you rightfully already do, I’ve shelved it. This makes my second non-published post in the last few days. You’re welcome.

What I will say is that the weather has been shit and like late fall rather than “almost summer,” and the picture taking has been subpar to say the least.

Having said that, I got out for lumber on Monday (6.03 miles) and today I knocked out an 8.36-mile rage hike, completing my longest hike since last September’s 10-mile hike at MMCC.

My thinking for today was two-fold; on one hand, I was out to punish myself for existing, on the other hand, I also wanted to go a bit longer as to stockpile some miles, because I’m skipping Wednesday’s lumber to join Wifey in taking B to the airport in Detroit as he leaves for a final college class at the British Film Institute in London. London? Yes, London.

Later.

THE SOILED SHORT FILM(S) OF THE POST

FILM ONE:

I stumbled upon this old BBC news story the other night and loved it. The anticlimactic ended is something right out of my life.

FILM TWO:

Can’t embed this one, but it’s a Converse spec commercial that Brennan co-directed, edited, and co-filmed. It won a 2025 Telly Award in the student division. I think this is the third award this spot has won this year. He’s pretty geeked up, and I’m pretty freaking proud of him. If you know anyone lookin for an editor, I know a guy.

CHECK IT OUT HERE.
