Here is another fine example of Jolanda Neff (Liv Pro XC Team) showing off her badass Jolanda Neffness on the way to winning the first elite world cup race of her career at the opening round of the 2014 UCI XCO series in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa*.
Neff’s Liv Pro XC teammate and long time Soiled Chamois favorite Maja Wloszczowska would take 3rd on the day behind Norse goddess of XC Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa (Multivan Merida). By the way, you have to give serious props and raise a goblet of strong ale to Gunn-Rita, the 41-year-old mother is about 20 years older than Neff, yet continues to pillage and plunder the women’s XCO fields all over the world. Skål!
To read more about her race, check out Neff’s personal recap of the Pietermaritzburg race on jolandaneff.ch and the complete race coverage on CyclingNews.com . You can also see some Neffness in action by checking out the UCI Channel video clip below.
UCI XCO action continues this coming weekend in Cairns, Australia. You would have to think that Neff will be a favorite for the podium again. Unless of course she’s still busy being the team hairdresser.
