Jackets and Drops

After a rainy Tuesday “run,” later that afternoon, I ran out of things to do to keep my mind from contemplating the shit show of right-wing stupidity that is modern America. So I found myself amongst the landscaping with my macro set up, taking photos in a failing attempt to ease my mind in between rain showers.

I chased around a yellow jacket from rose bush to rose bush, took a few crappy macro shots, and then retreated inside to edit and “clear my mind” with an IPA or twelve.

If you look close, there are other tiny friends on the leaf.

The rain continued off and on through the night and made for a soggy six-mile lumber on Wednesday morning, as well as another day with my lawn looking like a 70s-era pornstar’s unkept nether regions.

I didn’t see much to photograph on Wednesday, but I squeezed a bit of creativity out of my anxiety-soaked mind with a few more macro shots. That made me feel MUCH better (note sarcasm).

On Wednesday afternoon, as the roads dried, the paving company was finally able to start the actual repaving process of our neighborhood’s roads, which means Thursday, they will be on our side of the ‘hood (and they are currently outside the Cul De Sac Shack). That means I will be housebound most of the day due to giant machinery and fresh asphalt.

So, with 15+ miles in three days and a lawn that looks like shit, I am taking the day off from hiking or running to finally get my lawn mowed and start some other projects before ending the day watching Spurs take on Azerbaijan Premier League powerhouse Qarabağ FK (the mighty Horsemen) in the first round of Europa League play. It should be an exciting watch (note, MORE sarcasm). Shout out to the Europa League for their annual geography lesson.

Later.
