I made zero effort to get out for a lumber this weekend, and was content to end my week with 22.93 miles and the knowledge that I also completed some long-needed upgrades to the Cul-De-Sac-Shack’s outdoor lighting. And by upgrade, I mean that the lights are no longer hunks of rust with a lightbulb attached.
Come Monday, I was up at my now normal 5:25 AM to feed Lola, coffee up, and start some laundry. Then I got ready and headed to the trails a little later. The sun was set to rise at 6:47 and my feetz hit the trail at 6:50.

After two days off my feet (except for lawn mowing on Saturday afternoon), it felt great to be back on the trails, and the cooler temps felt even better. I busted out a 6.15-mile lumber, and then headed home for breakfast and to install the last two outdoor lights. All I have left are the two front porch lights, but I’m looking for some nicer ones than I used around the garage.
Most of this week looks to have nice, cool mornings, and I’m looking forward to stocking up more miles as I approach my 3rd Lumberversary on September 19th.
Later.
