Promises Broke

I woke up on Tuesday to promises of rain from the weather goofs. So, with hopes of a hike in the wet woods, I had a little spring in my step as I readied my gear and waited for a glimmer of daylight to appear.

I arrived at the trails just as darkness was fading to a slate grey sky that screams, “You’ll be shooting at 6400 ISO today.”

So, as “daylight” came, I took off down the trails, thinking that I should remember to pack my headlamp in the future, and hoping the promised rain would start soon.

I hiked, I lumbered, I saw the meth head campers and their dog are still camping into their second week, and I briefly saw a couple of deer.

Due to the predicted rain that never became more than a slight mist, I took the pocketable Fuji x70. I took a few trail shots, but that’s about all I saw over the 6.03 miles.

I’m hoping to get back to the 30-mile goal this week, and after two days, I’m at 12.19 miles, so I’m like 60% there already. Maybe, I don’t know, you do the math.

Later.
