After three days (some planned, some not) without a ride I finally got back to it on Wednesday morning with a perfect dirt road ride north of town on the PrOcal.
We had a couple of days of on/off/on again rain showers and I thought the roads might be jacked and a bit too sketchy for the 36c tires of the Boone so I opted for the PrOcal’s wider, more aggressive tires. As it turns out, the roads were packed tight and the knobby tires were overkill for the fast rolling goodness that the roads were offering up.
No worries though, it felt great to be back on the bike, the weather was pre-fall-tastic, and I felt oddly good. The coming weekend is going to be dominated by a soccer tournament, so I hope that the tail end of weekdays results in more miles.
Here are the pics from yesterday’s 33.6 mile ride north of town.
