On Wednesday morning, I made the bold declaration (not really) that I was feeling way better and operating at 91%. Well, Thursday was even better, and I finally think that after 3 weeks, I’ve kicked the ass of what remained of the flu. Huzzah!
For Thursday’s lumber, I decided to take my Nikon z6 and Nikkor Macro lens and see if I could capture and spring budding action. While I did get a few shots, the 105mm f/2.8 continues to frustrate me, and I wish I had taken the manual focus vintage macro lens I have instead.
I’ve been shooting macro off and on for years and find the z/105mm extremely difficult to nail focus, even when using it in manual and with shooting upwards of f/10 or higher. Oh well, all that’s for my other blog, Crap Photography Done Crapper.
I got a few shots, saw a bunch of wildlife, and got 5.06 miles of lumbering in, which puts me at 21.59 miles on the week. Hoping for better picture-taking luck and more miles on Friday.
Friday morning’s weather was nearly the exact opposite of Thursday; sunny, crisp, and not a cloud in the sky. Sadly, I also saw very few critters that were willing to cooperate with the camera.
Regardless of the lack of quality shots the past few days, it’s been a good week of lumbering and I’m glad to be getting back to my normal self. In fact, despite only recently starting to feel close to 100% after battling the flu for weeks, I hit my self-imposed 25-mile weekly goal for the third week in a row today, completing 26.45 miles this week.

Normally, here is where I say how much slack I’m going to enjoy this weekend. But, if the past few weeks of not feeling great have taught me anything, it’s that my body and mind don’t really enjoy too much slack anymore. I might take off Sunday ’cause Spurs play Wolves at 9 AM, but I hope to get out with my camera on Saturday as well as continue with the Spring Cleanup of the Cul-De-Sac-Shack’s yard.
Later.
