Now, where was I?
I finished off a lackluster week of lumbering with 26.48 miles in my feetz, missing out on my goal of 30. Having said that, I also did a short 6-mile mountain bike ride, so I DID end up with over 30 miles of doing stuff. So, I guess that’s something to be semi-happy about.

Much of my weekend was spent watching footy, enjoying some beers, and making other slacker-life choices. It was swell.

I did find some time to do some short macro photo-creeping. I started off in the front yard with a wasp and ended up at the Sylvan Preserve soon after. Sadly, there weren’t many micro-critters around, but I did get some shots of a pollen-junkie filling its belly on some dandelions. So, I guess that’s something to be semi-happy about.

Monday, I found myself at the trailhead at 6:40 AM and was happy to be back to some warmer weather and shorts. What I was not happy about was forgetting that I gave my can of bug spray to Wifey yesterday when she went for a hike with her friend. SHIT!!!

I thought the early morning air would be cool enough to keep them at bay, but less than 3 miles in, my chubby meat sticks were getting bit up, and I was itchin’ and bitchin’ as I lumbered along, more than semi-happy enough to get 5 miles in and get the hell home.
Not the way I wanted to start the week, but at least I got out, and I got some photos of a yellow warbler and what I think is an ovenbird. Not great shots, but I’m semi-happy enough with them.

Hope to get out early tomorrow so I can be back in time to get to Dr. Bob’s to get the stitches out of my back.
Later.
