Slow Rolled Saturday

deeronroad

After a beautiful day weather wise on Friday, things got damp and rainy overnight and into the morning. When I woke up Saturday morning it was dank, dark and rainy, and all I really wanted to do was lay around and watch the first matches of the 2015/16 BPL season.

After a few hours of footy watching, I somehow got motivated to walk over to town to get a hair cut (nothing but the most exciting of life details on this blog!). Having now successfully wasted my morning hours, and it looking like the rain was out of the area, I decided to venture out onto the damp, soggy dirt roads for a ride. That meant that it was a perfect day to roll the fatty! The slow, lurching tank that is the Farley is the perfect vehicle to roll on rutted and destroyed dirt farm roads, and to utilized for a 27 mile photo trek with my DSLR. If one is going to be going slow, you might as well do something creative and productive while doing so.

I was really glad I got out for a ride; not because the ride was all that great, but because the dirt roads offered up ample photo opportunities this week and delivered in spades on Saturday. I could blather on about the ride or my bike, but there’s nothing all that important to say. So I will just post some of my fave photos from the ramble with minimal commentary.

A lighter, slightly more efficient fat bike would be nice, but a lighter, slightly more efficient rider would be even better. There are some things I would like to change to this bike in the future, but for now it’s meeting my needs as a crap weather, photo ramble bike in the summer months and just being a reliable, fairly inexpensive fat bike in the winter. Your mileage, thoughts and needs may vary.

All the photos in this post were taken by me with a Nikon D3200 except for the pic of my fat, mud spattered legs which was taken with an iPhone.

Later.
