I took today (Thursday) off the bike for a couple of reasons: 1. I needed to get some shit done and 2. Wednesday’s ride sucked, sucked real bad and I wanted a break. I should clarify that the ride didn’t suck, the bike didn’t suck–I sucked!
Excuses, I can give you some… I didn’t eat a proper breakfast (a hardboiled egg, coffee, and some almonds), and my legs were just dead. The air was thick, the sun was hot, and I had nothing. I thought that the initial mile of climbing would wake my legs up, but it only served to make it feel worse.
10 miles in I knew that a 25-35 mile ride was in NO way going to happen. So as not to waste my time, I settled in, pedaled slowly and stopped often to snap some photos, all the while thinking of the Mexican Pulled Pork & Rice Vomit Bowl waiting for me at home. I finished with just 16 miles. Not sure if I enjoyed one of them.
Since there’s no need to blather on about how shit I felt, I will just post some of the photos I took. They are best viewed on computer monitor or pad.
