Last week was a good week of doing stuff. I only lumbered 21.5 miles, but I also did a 27.5-mile dirt road ride on Mr. Burgundy and bonked harder than I have bonked outside of a race due to being an idiot and not eating before I left the house. Live and learn, etc.
I took Saturday off from “doing stuff” to hang out with Wifey and celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. The day was pretty damn swell, and one of our best together in a while. We drank coffee on the back porch, I made us breakfast, then there was gift giving, crime fighting, and a late lunch of Korean food at Jib-Bob before coming home to have some porch time. We even accidentally bought each other the same exact anniversary cards due to our minds officially melding as one.

Lunch at Jib-Bob was crazy cool, and the sweet Korean woman (Maya) who owns and cooks all the food herself is a hoot! Stopping by the table to tell us about each dish, telling us the best way to reheat the leftovers, and at one point literally fed Wifey a forkful of rice and super spicy beans to show her how the rice kills some of the intensity of the spice. I was giggling like a fool!

One 반찬 (Banchan) dish of spicy vegetables I had was so intensely hot that I was sweating, and my eyes were watering in between coughs! I was fully expecting to have some serious issues from it this morning, but thankfully I was all good! I love that we have a place in town like Jib-Bob to counterbalance the crappy chain restaurants that litter the strip malls.

On Sunday morning, I headed to the Sylvan Solace Preserve to do a macro photo creep. I probably only covered about a mile, but I was there for around 90 minutes!

Anyway, I had some good luck with the macro shots and enjoyed an afternoon of editing whilst Wifey was out with some co-workers.
I’m looking forward to another week of lumbering and hopefully some more time on the bike.
