I pretty much needed 7 miles in my feetz today to meet my 30 in 5 goal, and to be honest, I really didn’t think I had seven in me today— until I did.

I finished the week of lumbering with a hair over 30 miles, and a smile on my face from the amount of critter activity I saw this week, including my first photos ever of a Scarlet Tanager.

In fact, I think this might be the first time I’ve ever even seen a Scarlet Tanager, which is pretty remarkable given that they are apparently quite common in Michigan during the summer months. You would think that after nearly 17 years of living here and spending most of my time “doing stuff” outdoors, I would have seen at least one. But as the kids say, “nah, dawg.”

Rain is in the forecast for Saturday morning, and Sunday morning is set aside for screaming and crying if Spurs lose to Everton and get relegated to the Championship. Having said that, I might try to get out for some photo creeping or a spin on the bike. We shall see.
