Shine a Little Light

Some weeks, I struggle to find the time to blather about anything here, and then when I do find the time, I kinda don’t want to. This has been one of those weeks.

Wifey has been out of town on business, but that really doesn’t affect me other than needing to take things into my own hands at times. But I have been busy with lumbering, tinkering with this site behind the scenes, and taking care of some shit for the house that I’ve been meaning to do for months. Like replace our well-worn outdoor garage lights.

It’s been roughly 22 years since I last did any electrical work, but a little bit of Googling, some YouTubing, and direction reading helped a ton and gave me the confidence to have at it. As did being man enough, and scared enough of burning my house down, to ask my neighbor, AKA Mister Do-It-Yourself, for some tips about the ground wire.

And, boom! I got one light done Thursday morning, another today, and hope to get the remaining lights done this weekend. I also climbed roughly as many vertical feet as ascending Everest, going up and down the basement steps, trying to find the correct circuit breaker for the outdoor lights by myself. For the record, it was NOT the breaker named Outdoor Lights.

One funny tidbit happened last night at about 1:45 AM. I was just coming out of a sound sleep as Lola was snoring her ass off at the foot of the bed when the power went out. My first thought was, “IT WAS ME!!! I CAUSED A FREAKING BLACKOUT!!!” Thankfully, it came back on an hour or so later.

As for lumbering, I got another 6+ mile loop in today, and actually got a couple shots that I dug. Those will be in the next post, ’cause I’m running behind, the 2025/26 Premier League season kicks off soon when Liverpool takes on Bournemouth, and I’m as giddy as a naked fat man with a 72-ounce can of Hershey’s syrup.

LET’S GO!!!!!

Later.
