A Post-Mood Headless Rabbit

After a few days of stewing in my own fecal-scented depressive juices, I finally started to climb out of The Bell Jar sometime on Thursday.

While I know what put me in the mood, I don’t know exactly what got me out of the mood. I had an appointment with the OG Mindbender on Wednesday, and that helped a good deal, but sometimes I think I just need to let a mood take its course until I find the will to push that shit down real deep and forget about it. Like the saying goes, “Time heals all wounds, but it also kills everyone and everything.” Or something like that.

—POINTLESS ANECDOTAL INTERLUDE—

On Tuesday, I had an early morning appointment with Doctor Bob and then went for my lumber on my way home. As I was finishing up the last .25 miles on the main park path to the parking lot, I saw a rabbit on the trail. Then, as I approached, I realized that the rabbit was freaking dead! Then I looked closer, and it was missing its head!! What the fuck? I was just on the trail 90 minutes earlier!

Not wanting to let the poor thing in the middle of the trails, I picked up its already stiff body (sans head) and put it in some nearby brush.

This happened in the same section of trail that I saw the fish head a month or so ago, and just up from where I saw a coyote run across the frozen water near the canoe launch. I don’t want to start any conspiracy theories about a bloodthirsty killer mammal in the woods, I’m just sayin’.

I also can’t stop thinking of what the rabbit would look like with that fish’s head sewed onto it. Might have to draw one up later.

—END—

In other news, the week of lumbering was also subpar. It’s been a super rainy week, with only a few hours of precious sunlight to warm the dank air and the winter chill that refuses to leave my bones.

As of Friday’s lumber, I only have 22.5 miles in my feetz, and have no idea what the weekend holds for me. I might lumber, I might not.

Later.
