The weekend was a blur of rain, boredom, self-loathing, existential ennui, beer, and watching Spurs plummet further into the relegation zone, causing just a little bit more of me to die inside.
Fuck, there’s not much left! I figure, seeing the team I’ve supported for 20 years or more be relegated to the Championship should just about suck the last remaining drops of joy from my dark, flaccid soul.
I digress.

I was back in the muggy (yes, muggy) woods early Monday morning, and I was able to hike in shorts for the first time since October! Yes!! Of course, I wasn’t quite ready to see those two ghostly white hunks of meat glowing in the morning grey as I lumbered along, but they’ll get some color eventually. Maybe.
The woods were so dank and dark today, I really don’t know how I managed to get any keepers. Thank the photo dogs above for Lightroom experience, ’cause I was pushing ISO 16000 on some of the shots today! Some day the sun will shine, and maybe the sky won’t be the color of a dirty dishrag, and my legs won’t look like tubes of paste.

I ended up with 6.20 miles and a couple photo I dig. There is more rain in store for us tonight, so tomorrow will most likely be another dank one. However, I’ll take dark and dank over ice and snow any day!

Photo Notes:
- A male cardinal giving me the stinkeye on Saturday.
- Nature nubbins are just now starting to pop!
- A broadwing hawk posing in the dark woods.
- A hooded merganser floating solo in the river.
- A wood duck in a section of woods I call the Dagobah System.
Later.
