Going to take a second to look back at my week.
*less than one second later*
OK, that’s done.
The week had some of this, and some of that. Some of it good, a lot of it bad, but there is no use looking back, or dwelling, on all the unlistenable art house jazz of life (look at me starting to use some of the Stoic knowledge that Bill Irvine is dropping on me in his book, A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy.
What’s done is done. Instead, I will look back with some photos of a 2-mile hike I did around Meridian Park on Saturday morning and think about the inner peace and mental rub and a tug I get from a walk in the woods.
I took my big ass lens in search of wildlife but found nothing but a few robins doing boring ass robin stuff in the trees and some carp rolling around in the pond like giant turds with gills.

With no critters in sight, I made a short loop around the pond and along a hunk of the river, then returned to the car and swapped over to the 24-120mm lens to capture all those little things in the woods that I enjoy photographing; dead flowers and weeds, trees, leaves, and other, often overlooked, bits of nature.
I guess it’s time to finish this now cold cup of coffee and see what Sunday has to offer. I have a feeling I may try to squeeze in another walk in the woods around watching the England/Belgium match, and seeing what sort of trouble I can get into. Or I may just fast forward to getting into trouble. EDIT: No hike, footy and trouble!
Boring Notes Concerning My Crap Nature Photography: I didn’t take my macro extension tubes, so there are not true macro shots here or for Macro Monday, but I was happy with some of the stuff I got and happier still to be in the woods. Also, I’m usually not a fan of my work edited with these muted tones, but for some reason was diggin’ it the most this time.
