Saturday was spent sweating my balls off outside while I doing my best to make a home improvement as crap as I possibly could and with an eye on Sunday to get a ride in.
Sunday came and the semi-heat wave that mid-Michigan experiencing continued with temps once again heading up into the low nineties (which in Michigan feels like about 135˚). It would have been the perfect day to head into the woods. Sadly my Superfly has a busted lockout on the rear shock and is stuck in lock out until the part comes in, I didn’t feel like riding the fatty and my ti hardtail is cleaned and hanging up as I try to find a buyer.
So I stuffed my sagging balls and flapping belly into my kit and headed out into the heat to ride dirt roads on the Boone. Nothing bad about that at all, other than the extreme heat which is made worse by all the extra pounds that my body’s frame is carrying around these days.
The ride was sort of just “there.” Nothing really to say about it other than it felt like I was riding in a pizza oven while breathing through wet dish cloth.
The week is sort of open for me, so I hope to put some sort of ride schedule together that will allow me to avoid the stifling midday heat.
Later.
