My woodsy lumbering has been on hold for a couple of days as I let the intense heat get back to normal over the next 24-48 hours. In the meantime, I have been taking advantage of the pollinator garden in the yard as my personal macro studio. It’s been swell.

The only issue I’m having right now is that due to the heat and humidity, if I don’t take shots in the morning before it gets too hot, I have to pack my camera, put it in the garage for a few minutes, then take it outside, remove the camera, and shoot. All in an attempt to stave off condensation on the lens and inside the camera when moving from the cool house to the heat outside. You gotta ease the camera into the temp changes, lest ye rot your innards.

Today I was able to get another shot of a Hover Fly, an unknown species of wildflower about to bloom, and a beetle (Cereal Leaf Beetle?) doing beetle stuff.

I’m anxious for more blooms to start happening, as well as to see what other types of insects make an appearance in the weeks to come.
Later.
