After a lumberless weekend spent watching too much football, which included seeing Spurs finally win a league match this calendar year, but remain in the drop zone, I was back in the woods on Monday morning for a lumber.
The lumber was OK, but aside from a trailside Tufted Titmouse being titty, there wasn’t much action. The lack of critter activity might have had something to do with the high winds that were gusting like a freight train all day. I’m pretty sure if I were a bird, I would not be flying in conditions like that!

Still, I was happy to be in the woods and got 5.44 miles in my feetz before heading home to get my Monday chores done, which included clearing a small patch of ground near our garage to put in a wildflower pollinator garden. I can’t even grow a wart, so I’ll be astonished if anything grows.
Tuesday was more of the same, and I finished the hike with the SAME exact mileage (5.44) and took a few pics of some spring nature nubbins and a deer in the wet woods.

There were a few very large trees down, including one directly across the Wildwood Trail, that forced me to do some bushwacking to get back on the trail.
I keep thinking that warmer weather will bring out more reptiles, amphibians, and bugs to geek out on, but the spring has been wet and not all that warm, with temps not expected to hit 70 for at least the next 10 days and a low of 29˚ on Friday! Sigh. Oh well, it’s not snowing (Oh gawd, I hope I didn’t jinx it!)

In other news, not about me and better for it, Brennan won a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (MI chapter) Student Emmy for his editing on the short film Me.exe and was a co-winner for sound! And as a bonus, his girlfriend won an Emmy for her work on a short in the advertising category. Nice!

I’m so stoked to see him get recognized for something that he is so passionate about. So if you’re a big Hollywood movie mogul (or even a little one) who reads my blog, you should hire him!
Later.
