Miles, Pasta, and Cramps

As I type, I am in the middle of enjoying (?) an “off day” from hiking so I could get some lab work done at the hospital. I am also in the middle of Week 4 of increasing my lumber mileage to 30 miles. Because if I can’t go faster (and I can’t, not yet), I must go further. Know what I mean?

You wouldn’t think an additional 5 miles per week would make much of a difference, but at 52 years old and another 25 pounds to get to where I want to be as a beer-loving, white-ass, music-listening slacker of an old man, I’ve been feeling it at the end of the week, and it feels good! Well, except when it doesn’t.

Post-Lumber Pasta Crush

Saw a pic of this Italian dish on the web the other day and knew I needed to make it: orecchiette pasta, green peas, and ground meat (I used 93% lean ground turkey), tossed with some spices, olive oil, salt, pepper, and some red pepper flakes. Simple and damn good.

Damn, this bike blog is lame. Sorry.

Later.

THE SOILED SOUNDS TRACK OF THE POST

The first full-length, self-titled Spiritual Cramp album is on the way on November 3rd. I’ve really been enjoying their singles and EPs over the past couple of years; nice to finally see an album.
