Mistakes Were Made

As I entered the woods for my lumber early Friday morning, I told myself that I had a bit over 18 miles, and if I could push for 7, I would be happy enough with a 25 in 5 week vs. a 30 in 5. I clearly don’t have enough to think about.

I felt good, and for 99% of the hike I was all in on getting that 7 miles in. So, as my Garmin ticked just over 6.25 miles, I continued on for a lap along the river and a small lake near the parking lot, in hopes of photographing some birds, frogs, or turtles near the water.

Then, as I approached the river, a couple of folks were fishing where I had wanted to go, so I aborted and headed back towards the car in hopes that I already had enough in my feetz to hit 25, and a slightly shorter, but respectful goal. But I was wrong and finished my 4-day week with 24.93 miles. GAHDAMN-SON-OF-A-BITCH!!

Oh, well, with no morning footy in my weekend’s future, there’s no reason other than my intense desire to slack holding me back from a few miles and or photo creeping. We shall see.

Now it’s time for another update from the Pollinator Garden with Days 58 and 59.

Day 58

Day 59

Day 59

The insects on the flowers are Hover Flies, and are about 1/8th of an inch long, maybe.

Later.
