Not As Bad As I Thought

Today was Day 3 of waking up not sick, but still with some sort of allergy or head cold. Such is life, and not enough to keep me out of the woods.

Winter continues on, and along with waking up to not being sick again, I also woke up to an inch of fresh snow on top of the icy trails, which made things uncomfortable, even with microspikes. Still, like the stank remains of Taco Tuesday, I could not be stopped and got in a 6.43-mile loop, and now have 18.37 miles on the week, which has already blown away last week’s crap totals.

The small tree ruined this one, and I chose not to remove it.

Speaking of totals, I’ve been beating myself up for the lack of miles this month, but just a little bit ago, I checked February 2025’s lumber mileage, and it was a mere 59.65 miles. And February 2026 is now at 60.39 with 3 days to go. It’s still roughly half of my “normal” lumbering mileage, but it’s good to know that this isn’t new, it’s just winter, and not me being a huge, pulsating, sack of slack.

Despite seeing a few critters today, nothing was cooperating, and I’m about done taking photos of the snowy woods, so instead, you get a couple shots that didn’t make yesterday’s cut for one reason or another.

Later.
