I didn’t have a great week of riding last week, getting out just 4 of 7 days, but as someone who just rides to ride, and to shoot some photos it wasn’t too bad.
On Wednesday I struggled to keep things going through the fresh dirt and gravel the county laid down; deep dirt and skinny-ish tires made for a less than fun ride. I took the day off on Thursday with hopes that the roads would be graded by Friday. They were graded a bit, however, we got rain overnight and that fresh dirt and gravel was now gritty mud.
The good news was that by Saturday those wet and muddy roads were packed down tight by cars and farm equipment and that made for a fast ride on the Boone.
I never did make it south of town to ride, but getting four rides in over various road conditions over a variety of roads north of town wasn’t too bad.
I alternated bikes (Boone and PrOcal) throughout the week as well as cameras (Fuji X-T1 and Nikon D500). It’s funny, I love each of my bikes for different reasons, and I also love each of my cameras for different reasons. Each bike and camera offer something special. The one thing they all share is the expense! Maybe I should just take up walking while carrying a sketchpad and pencil! Nahhhh!
