Something Told Me

I woke up Thursday morning at 5:20, fed the dog, and thought about the morning’s lumber. Something was telling me to skip it, and after a few minutes of internal discussions, I decided that I was not one to argue with “something,” and pulled the plug.

Then, around 8:25, Wifey called from work and said the oven repair dude who was scheduled to arrive between 9 and 1 called and wanted to know if he could come early. So, “something” was right to tell me to abort the hike, because my sweaty ass would have just been arriving home at that time.

With that, he arrived 5 minutes later and was gone in 20, leaving me with a newly installed ignitor and a fully operating oven.

Sure, I missed a hike, AND I canceled an 11 AM dentist appointment to make sure I was home between 9 and 1, but whatever, another 5 miles and clean teeth were not going to miraculously make me a thinner, healthier, happier, smarter, wealthier, successful, nicer person.

After getting some things done and running some errands, I stopped by the backyard Soiled Pollinator Garden to check things out with my camera. Turns out there were a couple of bees buzzing around, and one bee in particular was nice enough to cooperate for a few macro shots.

Hoping for some miles on Friday morning, and hopefully some luck with the forest critters.

Later.
