The Call of The Wood Thrush

It’s taken me close to two weeks, but I finally had a lumber that produced some OK images. Not great, but OK enough that I dig them.

I’ve really been struggling with bird images of late, so getting a couple shots of a Wood Thrush perched and singing was a real bonus.

In the summer, their call can be heard constantly echoing through the trees, but this time I actually photographed it in mid-call, which really tickled my bird-nerd fancy, which was in much need of tickling.

I also got a couple of photos of some deer, with the one standing amongst the Wild Bergamot (Monarda Fistulosa) being one of my favorites deer photos this summer.

Unbeknownst to me, there was a fawn there too, but the Bergamot was too tall for me to see it until I moved on and startled it. Sorry, little one.

Due to dialing back my efforts a bit and missing Thursday’s lumber, I only ended up with 21.70 miles this week, but I’m hopeful that in the weeks to come I get back to hitting my 30-mile weekly goal. If not, there are like 3.8 billion people in the world, including me, who could give a flying wet fart.

Later.
