The weekend was just as expected; pretty darn not bad.
Friday evening was spent celebrating Wifey’s birthday with cake, gifts, and time chilling out on the deck before we went our separate ways; Wifey to the Ratz Nest upstairs to watch bad TV while doing jigsaw puzzles, and me to the living room to watch more of the World Cup. We lead such an exciting life!
Saturday was spent chilling with Wifey in the morning, followed by mowing and trimming the vast (not really) grounds of the Cul-De-Sac-Shack in the late morning, then followed by, you guessed it, watching more World Cup.

Sunday had all the makings of a day of photo creeping. Instead, I slept in (7:30 instead of my normal summer wakeup time of 5:10), made a breakfast burrito, drank coffee, ran some errands, and then sat my ass in my comfy chair to watch MORE World Cup.
In between matches, I crept through the flowerbeds of the C-D-S-S with my macro lens, looking for nature nubbins and insects. I didn’t see much that I dug other than some Margined Calligrapher Flies on some flowers that cooperated for some handheld macro. The flies are less than .20″ in length!

Monday, I was up before the alarm, fed Lola (the dog) and Wifey (the wife), then grabbed my gear and got on the trails by 6:30 for a 6.06-mile woodsy loop.
I didn’t see much over the lumber other than a couple of deer sporting their new summer red coats, and a daisy that had what I think is a skipper butterfly on top; both of whom were covered in drops of early morning dew.

Well, this laundry isn’t going to fold itself, so I got a split and get it done and out of the way before 3 PM, and, ahem, more World Cup football. I’m so not sorry about this!! I mean, Belgium is playing Egypt! De Bruyne, Doko, Trossard, Salah, Marmoush, it’s gonna be a good one!

Later.
