Creeps and Hikes

I managed to mentally bounce back last week and made up for my lack of doing stuff outside with two productive photo creeps at Meridian Park on Thursday and Sunday and a hot and muggy 5.25-mile hike at Deerfield Park on Friday.

Not sure the last I poo-pooed the bike and hiked/lumbered over 5 miles in one go (possibly in 2015 with a 7-mile hike on the NCT?), but it felt good to be outside pushing myself and sweating rather than in an air-conditioned gym.

I actually enjoyed that hike so much that I utilized some recent gift cards to pick up a new pair of trail running shoes that will be used for almost everything BUT running on trails. However, if they fit properly, they should be a bit more comfortable and cooler for warm-weather hikes on terrain like Deerfield. Looking forward to getting more miles in with them soon!

After today (Monday), things look like they will be dryer and cooler the next few days, so I am hopeful for more time with my camera outside and less time in the gym. Even though I know that if Operation Pec-Lift III is going to keep on track, I need to go. Damn.

Later.

Photos: If it’s a bird, bug, or critter, it was taken at Meridian Park with a vintage Nikon D4 and Sigma 150mm-600mm lens. If it’s a fungus, trail, or other, it was at Deerfield Park with the Nikon z50 and the Sigma 17.0-50.0mm f/2.8.
