After last week’s one-year anniversary of the ’22 Comeback Special/’23 Soil The Woods Tour, I continued on as normal, lumbering through the increasingly fall-like woods of central Michigan.
I got out early Saturday morning, just as the sun was rising to complete the week’s miles, and then enjoyed a day off from hiking on Sunday to watch Spurs come from behind twice to draw with Arsenal in the North London derby. C’MON, YOU SPURS!!!
I also ventured out to an autumn BBQ that some friends were hosting. This made for my third social interaction this calendar year, so I am quickly regaining my title of “social butterfly.” (FYI, no one has ever said that about me).
I was back to hiking on Monday with a quick 5+ mile loop, and then on Tuesday, I got out for an 8-mile lumber. I always dig when I can pinch off a hunk of the week’s 25-mile goal right at the beginning of the week, thus freeing up more time for goofing off and additional Cul-De-Sac-Shackian duties.
I didn’t hike much with my camera last week, but I had some luck on Friday with the photo of the buck and then again on Saturday with the blue heron photos. There was also a bald eagle sighting, but my camera was not dialed in for a bird-in-flight photo, so it sucks. Still always great to see an eagle.
Later.
