Missed Miles & Shots

Last week was a fine week of lumbering, and after Saturday’s early morning hike and my weekly goal met, I took Sunday off to rest and creep around Meridian Park looking for critters.

The photo creep was OK, and I got a decent shot of a green heron looking for brunch, but that was about my best shot.

Monday morning, I had a 6-mile hike planned, and I was about 2 miles into it when B texted to ask if I would be home by 10.

“Ummm, no.”

But then he said it was because he wanted to borrow the 2014 Escape to drive down to MSU to work on a film shoot with his internship, and Wifey was on her way home from Swifting (DEAR FREAKING DOG, WHERE DID I GO WRONG!!) in Pittsburgh.

So, I aborted the idea of a six-miler and opted to up the pace and knock out 4.5 miles and was home by 10 for him to take my 2014 car with 135,000 miles on it instead of his 2008 Soobie with 132,000 miles on it. I think he just wants the better stereo, but that is just a theory. 1

It felt great to be back in the woods lumbering 87% pain-free, and I’m HOPING that Tuesday will bring that planned 6 miles.

Here are some photos from the week, including Sunday’s photo creep. The photo of the turtle laying eggs was hurriedly taken with the Fuji x70 on Monday, and I barely got anything in focus. DAMN! What a missed opportunity. Maybe I’ll see her again soon.

Later.

  1. As you might notice, new cars aren’t a big thing at our house, ha!
