Another Hundred Down

It’s been a good week of woodsy lumbering so far; my foot is making progress even though I have not even come close to resting it, and I have hiked over 21 miles in 4 days. I even had one of my fastest 6-mile lumbering loops ever on Wednesday, clocking in at a respectable average lumbering pace of 15.40 per mile.

I have been looking so far ahead to the prospect of hitting 1,000 miles I didn’t even realize that in addition to Wednesday’s “speedy” loop, I also went over 900 miles hiked since the start of the 2022 Not Dead Yet Comeback Special/2023 Soil The Woods Tour on September 19th, 2022.

If I can maintain foot health and successfully dodge the barrage of health issues that can slow a fat 51-year-old down, I just MIGHT be able to hit my goal of 1,000 miles by my birthday in the middle of July. And even if end up a few days late, it’s still a good two months before this leg of the tour ends in September1.

Current mileage since September 19th, 2022: 906.18 miles

Later.

  1. Just a reminder to any newbies; these miles reflect ONLY hiking miles—no treadmills, grass mows, daily steps, etc.
