It’s hard to believe that’s it’s been nearly a week since my last ride. A wide range of things came between me and precious, calorie burning saddle time. Such things as traveling to multiple soccer games, a post-season soccer party, time restraints, family duties, and on a few occasions, just not giving a shit.
Today, time and giving a shit came together and I was finally able to get out for a dirt road ride north of town.
Ominous clouds and strong winds gave way to sunny skies by ride’s end. Sadly, the winds remained, but at least I had a tailwind to push me back to the cul-de-sac-shack!
Each winter I tell myself that in the coming spring and summer I am gonna get more miles than ever, lose the weight I’ve gained, and regain all that lost fitness. And each spring and summer I find something that distracts me from adhering to those words and struggle to get just a few rides a week in. Such is life. I want more miles, but obviously there are things that I find myself opting to do instead. I’m not gonna beat myself up about it, but I do hope that with the soccer season coming to an end after this weekend’s 2019 tryouts I can start logging more miles and more pixels.
Today was a good start to all that with a 32+ mile ride that was 95% dirt roads. Hoping for more of the same over the next two day and maybe a trip up to MMCC to get some singletrack miles in.
Here are a few pics that capture a bit of what I’ve been up to the past few days.
