For whatever reason, and for possibly the first time since 2005, I have found myself uninterested in writing anything about my long-running, mundane, pedestrian, unproductive life. But in the interest of knowing I paid my hosting bill upfront, I am here. So, I got some photos and some October stats—that’s it.
October proved to be my biggest months of lumbering since I started this mental health project geared towards getting fitter, punishing, pushing, and re-learning how to fat shame and hate myself like I did in the good ol’ 90s and early 00’s. Good times… Good times…
Total Distance for October 2023: 128.99 (seriously, .99?)
Average Distance: 5.16 Miles Per Hike
Woodsy Miles Lumbered Since September 2022: 1,425.80 miles
After completing 123.62 weeks in four weeks, I started the week feeling like I might be getting ill, so I made the decision on Monday that I would “chill” this week. However, illness never set in, so I soon found myself doing over 20 miles in four days. Realizing that I am on track for rest-week failure, I’m pulling the plug on any hiking today (Saturday) and may do the same tomorrow. I need to let some slight injuries heal up and get some mojo back in my feet. And nothing helps slight injuries and mojo like beer and a Saturday of watching the footy.
Later.
THE SOILED SOUNDS TRACK OF THE POST
CIVIC rips! That’s all you really need to know about this Australian punk band. To paraphrase Bob #1, “I celebrate their entire catalog.”
Also, Spiritual Cramp’s self-titled debut LP was released on Friday, and it slaps! One or two of the pre-release songs that I was slightly underwhelmed with on early listens fit it nicely in album format, and I love the whole damn thing.
