Opting For Slack, Clean Showers

The week started with two days of indoor lumbering/running (not affiliated with the 2026 Soiled and Ignorant Tour), and was followed by two days and 8 miles on trails covered with solid ice, slush, and standing water. Which, come Friday, I had had enough of. Well, at least my feet had enough of the lateral torsion caused by hiking on lumpy ice and slush.

Come Friday morning, I woke up to 50˚ temps, some rain on the way, gusting wind, and the temps rapidly dropping into the low 30s with each tick of the clock.

My feet needed a guarantee that the trails would be completely clear for me to want to head out for a lumber, and my brain needed assurance that I wouldn’t have a mental breakdown from more treadmill miles in the Not-So-Stankment.

Since I could offer no such guarantees, I said, “fuck it,” and decided that today would be a day to get things done that I’ve been avoiding, like running some errands, and cleaning up the numerous mounds of waterlogged Lola poop that have now revealed themselves from the receding snows. As well as clean the upstairs shower and bathroom, which is LOW on my list of Fun Friday activities, but still somehow beat out another morning of hiking on shit trails or panting on the treadmill.

I figure, if I am going to maintain my Fit & Fat anti-influencer lifestyle that is so sought after by so many these days, I need to work on the fat part, too. Well, I got some fitness in this week, and I continue to be fat as fuck, so mission accomplished!

Sadly, there is snow in the forecast for tomorrow, but it’s a mere 1 to 3 inches, so that’s not too bad to deal with, especially after the recent melt. With that, I hope to get out for some morning lumbering or photo-creeping on Saturday since Spurs don’t kick off until 12:45 (US EST) in the FA Crap against Villa; a sure hard watch, and a sure loss. Ug!!

It was nice to get back on the trails this week for a bit, even if it wasn’t that great. Hoping for better days and weeks to come, filled with more miles and more crap photography. If not, I have more showers I can clean.

Later.
