The Second Thousand

Another week of lumbering is in progress, with 18+ miles in the feetz so far, and reasons for mild celebrations, as I went over 2,000 miles hiked on Tuesday.

I knew I would surpass 2,000 miles this week, but I thought it would happen today, not yesterday. Oh well, when you take Art to fulfill Math credits, you’re bound to make a mistake now and then.

With that being said, I am going to use my numbers as of Tuesday for my own private statistical masturbation needs.

I began recording these efforts on September 19, 2022, as part of the 2022 Not Dead Yet Comeback Special. The Comeback Special was then succeeded by The 2023 Soil The Woods Tour and the 2024 Lumber Through Hell Tour.

I SHOULD have reached 2,000 miles last month, but some minor injury setbacks prevented it.

September 19, 2022, thru April 16, 2024

Lumbers: 410
Distance: 2.001.98 miles
Avg. Distance: 4.88 miles per hike
Avg. Speed: 3.5 MPH (including photo stops)

And now on to the next 1,000 miles!

Photos are from this week’s lumbers, except for the chicken sandwich, which was taken over the weekend, but I make one almost every day, so imagine that I ate the one shown here today, not Saturday.

Later.

THE SOILED SOUNDS TRACK OF THE POST

With all this 2,000 talk, I could not get He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot by Grandaddy out of my head.

Grandaddy (and Jason Lytle) are one of my favorite bands and the record The Sophtware Slump will always have a special place in my heart.

Fun Fact: Along with being an amazing songwriter, Jason Lytle is also a keen, dirt-loving cyclist
