The Week’s Start

I was back in the woods on Monday morning for a 5.16-mile lumber. It was nice to be back amongst the trees, and it was a great way to start off “The Day of Me.” Also known as my 54th birthday.

I took a few pics, but didn’t come home with much I liked. After the lumber, it was home for a normal Monday of doing stuff, before Wifey gifted me a big ol’ mix bag of fine beers she picked up for me at Horrock’s in Lansing. There’s a bunch of my faves from Chimay, Ayinger, Oddside Ales, Victory, and more.

I also got some sweet gifts from my brother and sister, and B checked in with me, welcoming me to double digits, as he made his way home from a long weekend up north with friends. As Mondays go, it was swell, and as birthdays go, it was even swell-er. Thanks all!

Tuesday was more time in the woods, a couple of images taken, and 5.26 miles in the feetz. After that, it was home to trim up a shitty looking, possibly dying pine tree we have, take the limbs to the recycling center, and then mow the grass of the Cul-De-Sac-Shack. In the end, I had over 7.5 miles in my feetz before 12:45.

You would not be wrong in thinking that my now 54-year-old ass is tired, and looking forward to a goblet of Chimay on the porch later whilst filling my earholes with music.

THE SOILED SOUNDS TRACK OF THE POST

Straight out of south Holland, it’s The Velcro. I’m really digging their first single, Ticket to Ride.
