My pretty, OK, not bad, kinda good week of lumbering continued on Thursday morning.
I did the same loop as Wednesday, and was pleasantly surprised that it actually came in at nearly the exact time length (6.41 miles vs. 6.40 miles) and time (1:43 vs. 1:42).
I know I shouldn’t be, you know, ’cause of higher education, technology, science, and shit, but I feel like I’ve done exact loops before and was puzzled at the differences. Although subtle, it was enough for me to call the reliability of GPS into question, like an uneducated, science-denying, republican congressperson at a Capitol Hill hearing who thinks Garmin is in cahoots with the dangerous, out-of-control, militant, left-wing trans community to have “normal,” hardworking, white Americans and their children take wrong turns and question their gender.
If that shows up in a Tweet from his un-royal highness later, you know where he got it!!
“GERMAN [sic] AND THE RADICAL LEFT WANT YOUR KIDS USING GPS TO BECOME TRANS!! I’VE SIGNED AN EXECUTIVE ORDER BANNING GPS! AND A 100% TARIFF ON GERMAN [sic] PRODUCTS! MAKE KEEP AMERICA GREAT AGAIN STUPID AS FUCK!”
Or something like that. OK, maybe not. I think it’s just that I’m a bit of a dim bulb, and little things excite me, like seeing similar numbers two days in a row. I digress.
Come Friday morning, I needed less than 5 miles to hit my 30 in 5 weekly goal and busted out a quick 5.68-mile loop to finish with 31.07 miles in my feetz this week.
I’m looking forward to the weekend, lots of footy, and a few beers. Spurs play at the ass-crack of dawn (US time) on Saturday at Leeds, and after their performance against Bodø/Glimt on Tuesday in the Champions League, my expectations are extremely low.

The weather is going to be HOT and near 90 (so not normal) over the weekend, but I hope to get out for a brief photo creep after Spurs play on Saturday. We’ll see.
Later.
THE SOILED VIDEO OF THE POST (UPDATED, 3:52 PM)
First, some background as I understand it.
Last week, B, who remains living and working in East Lansing, went to hang out with one of his friends who works at the intramural fields at MSU to help him pass the time. While he was there, they started watching an IM soccer match; the Law Dept vs someone else.
Brennan was/is a very proficient player and really thought the Law Department team could set up differently. So, he jokingly volunteered to coach them in the second half, and they accepted.
Fast forward to this week.
He and his friend returned, and they put together a quick little trailer fore a humorous “mockumentary” film with the team highlighting their “coaching.” The full episode is coming!
I have to say, he sent this to us at just the right time, ’cause I have to admit that I think I worry about and miss B more now than when he was actually IN school. I have no need to; it’s just what a parent does (or at least what I do). Anyway, seeing him having fun, laughing, and doing creative shit just for the hell of it, made my week. Thanks, kid.
Football managers (soccer coaches) fall into two categories: Suit coaches or Track Suite coaches. I would have pinned B as a tracky, but he proved me wrong!
