I was back in the woods this morning, and I was greeted with MUCH better conditions than yesterday’s freezing rain fest. It was a cool 27˚, but the sun was out, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

I put together a new 6+ mile loop today; something increasingly more difficult after you have hiked over 4,000 miles in one natural area! It was a decent loop, and I finished with 6.42 miles, which is about the same length as every other loop I have put together since 2022. I guess there is only so much dirt to hike in an area without doing multiple loops. Something I am, of course, familiar with coming from a mountain bike background. “Ride the same 6-mile course for 12 hours? Sure! I’ll even pay you to let me! AND I’ll probably puke on myself at some point. It’ll be fun!!”

There were no eagle photos today or sightings, but it was a good lumber with a few pics along the way.

I’m not sure what is happening tomorrow. The weather is looking psycho as fuck, with rain, snow, sleet, and wind gusts over 40 miles per hour in the forecast, with the balls of it coming in the morning hours. So, with 25.71 miles in my feetz, I might have to work overtime on Saturday to complete my weekly 30 miles.

Later.
