A Normal Friday

OK, the Mostly Normal button has been reset for the week, and today (Friday) has felt way more normal than the routine-breaking last three days.

Lola is doing way better, the bandages are off, and she’s 98% back to her normal, lovable, chubby, food-obsessed, sleep-loving, gas-passing self. All I need to do is see her poop. No, I’m not “in” to watching my dog poop (but no doubt someone out there is), but I don’t think she’s dropped a dook since Monday. Or at least I haven’t seen her do it on my watch. I fear that when it does come out, I’m going to need a hazmat suit and maybe some Lava.1

I also got in the woods for a normal 6.25-mile lumber this morning, and that felt great. I also started a little later so as to get more photo ops, but that actually didn’t pan out. Even at 7:45 AM, the trail photo above was shot at 1/50th of a second, with the exposure boosted almost a full stop in Lightroom.

Because of the abnormal week so far, I sit at just 23.59 miles this week. I’d like to get out for a short lumber at some point this weekend to at least go over 25, but I make no promises.

However, I will promise to get out for some photo creeping. I really have no excuse, due to the only morning footy being EFL League 1 and 2. NOT that I won’t watch them, but they are on my Can Miss For Cool Shit list.

Lastly, in other news, not about me and better for it:

We heard more from Brennan this week about the mini-mockumentary-ish film he’s making about coaching the Law Department’s intramural soccer team at MSU (the teaser is at the bottom of October 3rd’s post).

He said that he recorded Zoom calls with his long-time club soccer coach and his first high school coach to be in the film. He didn’t say what he’s up to, but I love the extra steps he takes when it comes to his films. He hasn’t spoken to his club coach since his last game over three years ago (in which they won the league by the way, ha!), but when he gets an idea, he does some surprising shit.

OK, time to think about starting the weekend early with some crap International footy.

Later.

  1. My mail box and phone have been inundated (not really, not at all) with messages asking about Lola’s poop situation. Well, I’m happy to announce that after three days, I saw her poop today. I also think there may have been some rogue pooping I hadn’t seen, because as I surveyed the vast (not really) estate of the Cul De Sac Shack Saturday morning, I noticed a toby or two that I hadn’t laid eyes on before. Everyone can relax now.
