Still January, Still Moaning

Same day or a different day? Who the hell knows? It’s Thursday, but I thought it was Wednesday, which was yesterday, the day I thought it was today. It doesn’t matter because it’s cold, dark, and sunless for the 25th day of 2023’s first 26.

Despite the rope to the attic weather, I have continued my near-daily woodsy walks with my camera, but it’s been a struggle to maintain enthusiasm when every day looks and feels EXACTLY THE SAME. Of course, it snowed a few inches Wednesday (or was that today? I think it might have been both days), so at least that was slightly different. Personally, I would have opted for sun, warmer temps, and a pallet of colors that doesn’t resemble a bowl of rancid mushroom soup and baby shit, but Ma Nature does what she wants and doesn’t rest until each, and every Michigander is ready to go fullĀ Jack Torrance.

Looking back over the years I wasted writing this shit, it seems that every January, I do the same thing; bitch and moan about the weather and the lack of sun. You would think that after 12 years of living through the existential gulag that can be a Michigan winter, I would be used to it, but you would be wrong.

Regardless of the dank, now snowy conditions, I continue to plod through the woods daily with no real goal other than to be outside, burning some calories instead of sitting in the house, continuing to bitch and moan.

Later.
