With the first singletrack ride on the Procaliber under my expanding belt on Saturday, I decided to take it out for a short twenty-six mile spin on the dirt roads north of town on Sunday. I was warned that I might not like how the bike rides on dirt roads, mostly due to its gearing, and as it turns out, I didn’t like it–I loved it and found the gearing a non-issue.

Maiden Voyage
Today was my first time on trails in a long time. It was also my first time on the newly acquired Trek Procaliber hardtail. My initial reactions are damn positive, but as with any new ride, there are some things I’ll need to dial in the future. Here is what I learned about the bike (and me) on its maiden voyage…
I Don’t Always
I don’t always have a homemade pan-fried/pan-steamed 1/2 pound cheeseburger the size of my head for lunch, but when I do, I love every freaking orgasmic bite, do two plus hours of landscaping (for the second day in a row) and then go buy a new bike; fuck yeah, Friday!!!

Not Riding and A Link
As expected it pissed down a cold rain today here in Michiganderburgh. In between rain drops, dad/house duties and a piss poor excuse for a strength training workout, I finally got around to putting up a post and gallery of pics from my walkabout in Braddock over the Thanksgiving holiday in western Pennsylvania.
